Fundraiser
TO Benefit challenged martial artists
Possibilities
Unlimited International
announces
its 6th Annual Tea and Luncheon
scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2009 in Glendora.
Booster Club members and guests will be offered a lite luncheon served with desserts
and fine teas. Entertainment, door prizes, raffles and silent auctions will
provide further enjoyment and excitement for the day.
PUI has a new sponsor, ASA Products, of nearby City of Industry!
CEO
Melody Hsieh has generously donated one of her company’s Tri Ton* beach cruisers to our
fundraising efforts and she will be present to congratulate the winner!
Those attending will also have the opportunity to meet PUI’s special guest,
martial artist Shihan Archie Liebe, who is an educator for the University
of West Indies and Olympic coach from Trinidad, Central America.
CEO, Anthony Marquez, will speak about PUI’s upcoming opportunity
to “Make a Difference in the World” After his recent trip to Trinidad to
speak with officials there, Marquez realized the exceptional opportunity for PUI
to challenge the unmet possibilities for disabled and challenged individuals that
exist in that part of the world.
Guests will hear more about plans in the works and PUI’s opportunity to
influence and elevate possibilities for individuals who are living with even greater
challenges in Central America. Marquez estimates that attitudes towards disabilities,
and therefore opportunities for those individuals, lag 60 years behind the US.
Funds raised at this event will support the organization’s goals of…
§ Education
of the public regarding achievements of differently-abled
§ Raising
the visibility of individuals afflicted with affective, intellectual and/or
physical challenge and their accomplishments.
PUI athletes dare to learn, practice and publically compete, thereby stressing
their Abilities, as opposed to being held back by ignorance of their
respective challenges and presumed inabilities.
PUI team members participate year around in competitions and demonstrations of
their skills. Earlier this month, team members participated in demonstrations at
the all-day DisAbility Sports Festival held at CSU San Bernardino.
Over the last few years, PUI members have competed or held demonstrations in
Orlando, FL; Columbus, OH; Honolulu, HI; Las Vegas, NV and in various locations
across California.
Community members are encouraged to attend and support this worthwhile
endeavor. Those who cannot attend, yet may still wish to contribute can do so
via the organization’s website, www.puionline.org.
